Do you love history? We are looking for volunteers to help with a special local history project.
Volunteers are needed to go to the Johnson County Archives facility (19310 159th St, Olathe, KS 66062) to help us assess a digitalization project on two local newspapers which are no longer in print. Volunteers will be keeping track on a paper spreadsheet of which volumes we have, how many pages are in each issue, the size of the paper, and whether the newspaper is color or black & white. This could be a lengthy project based on the number of decades each publication was in print.
Volunteers would need to commit to a regular three hour weekly shift (Tuesday or Thursday 9AM-Noon or 1-4PM), do a volunteer interview, and undergo a short training.
