Our mission at Conard House is to create and maintain the transformative resources that people who live with chronic mental illness-and frequently concurrent medical conditions-need to self-manage their lives effectively.

We are looking for 1-2 remote volunteers that can support us in translating teaching materials and resources for Conard House's Digital Literacy Program. We also invite folks who are open to help us teach courses and translate workshops for our Spanish speaking patrons.

The Conard House Digital Literacy Program operates Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, but remote volunteers can operate at any hours. No minimum hours required.

About CONARD HOUSE INC

Location:

1385 MISSION ST STE 200, SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94103, US

Mission Statement

Our mission at Conard House is to create and maintain the transformative resources that people who live with chronic mental illness--and frequently concurrent medical conditions--need to self-manage their lives effectively. Each year, disabling psychiatric episodes shatter everyday reality for thousands of adults living in San Francisco. These events disrupt their ability to work, to express themselves clearly and even to eat or sleep. Negotiating the maze of healthcare bureaucracies to get the help they need can be beyond the capabilities of those who need help the most. We focus on building welcoming and caring communities that empower residents and give them hope for the future.

Description

For more than 50 years, Conard House has provided effective, community-based resources for San Francisco's vulnerable adults living with serious mental health issues. Every day, clients working with our skilled team find healthy pathways to recovery, and those resources - including a combination of counseling, treatment, programs and other services - in order to self-manage chronic medical and mental illnesses.

Each year, Conard House serves more than 1,600 adults by:

  • Creating welcoming, caring and empowering communities
  • Fostering personal insight into illness and recovery
  • Promoting long-term independent living; providing access to secure, well-maintained housing
  • Helping our clients understand and negotiate the public mental health and health systems of care
  • Restoring hope
