Join the DMV Music Alliance as our Internship Program Developer and Coordinator! Your mission? Build an exciting, structured, and valuable internship program that fosters talent and meets the organization's goals. You'll work closely with our executive director, department managers, and interns to create a positive learning experience for all involved.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design a dynamic intern program with clear goals, learning objectives, and exciting projects.
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify intern roles that provide real value and growth opportunities.
  • Develop program structure, schedule, and policies to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Partner with marketing to create eye-catching job descriptions and promote intern openings.
  • Screen candidates, conduct interviews, and ensure a fair and inclusive selection process.
  • Create an engaging onboarding process to introduce interns to the team and culture.
  • Facilitate networking and mentorship opportunities for interns.
  • Set up evaluation processes for regular feedback and performance reviews.
  • Continuously collect feedback to improve the program and stay updated on internship best practices.

What You Bring:

  • Experience in program development, talent management, or internship coordination (a plus!).
  • Strong understanding of internship best practices and legal guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to juggle multiple program aspects.
  • Great communication skills to build strong relationships with interns, mentors, and stakeholders.
  • A passion for supporting interns' professional growth and creating a positive learning environment.
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles to promote an inclusive program.

Founded by DMV area music professionals FOR area music professionals, the DMV Music Alliance is a grassroots, non-profit, volunteer organization. It’s goals are dedicated to bringing together the organizations and individuals from all facets of the regional music ecosystem, all genres, and all communities across the DMV, so that together we can develop the services, resources, networks, and tools needed for both our regional musicians as well as our regional industry professionals - from every area genre, role in the industry, background, and area - to grow their careers in music here in the DMV.
