The Gallery Host welcomes people to the special exhibition and monitors artwork and visitors to ensure the safety and security of all by reporting any incidents to security and/or staff and administration.
Specific Duties include but are not limited to:
- Ensures easy and efficient visitor flow through the exhibition
- Enforces security and safety procedures and protocols in the Special Exhibition gallery
- Communicates with security staff and administration staff as needed
- Answers general museum questions
- Assists with general museum needs
Skills Needed:
- Ability to work with individuals from a wide variety of ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
- Ability to identify and positively resolve visitor issues in the moment.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Effective and persuasive communications skills; demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively to present information to diverse audiences
- Approachable, Friendly and personable demeanor
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Training: One hour and on the job.
Required: review of references and background check.

Description
The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage is a lively community space that attracts students, adults, and groups from the community and around the country. The stories of individuals and families - past and present - come to life through state-of-the-art exhibitions, interactives and films, oral histories, photographs, and artifacts. The Museum includes The Temple-Tifereth Israel Gallery - an internationally-recognized collection of Judaica - and a special exhibition gallery featuring important exhibitions of national and international acclaim.
