Recruiting Organization: Souris Basin Planning Council
Through the Community Builder Program, the Community Outreach Capacity Building Member builds the capacity of Southwest Art Gallery + Science Center’s (SWAG+SC) community outreach as an AmeriCorps Community Outreach Capacity Building Member. They play a crucial part in enhancing community engagement by assisting SWAG+SC’s in building and maintaining our relationships with local schools, community organizations, citizens, and businesses. The member assists with creating and implementing effective outreach strategies, assists with logistics for community events, and arts and science programming, and helps foster partnerships that align with SWAG+SC’s mission. They assist with promoting inclusivity and accessibility for diverse populations in SWAG+SC’s service area and the North Dakota Arts Community.
Essential Duties Include:
- Assist with developing and implementing strategies to engage local schools, community
organizations, and businesses to include the creation of print/digital media, in-person engagement, tabling, and presentations.
- Assist with coordinating community events logistics and building the capacity of local partnerships and infinitives that align with SWAG+SC’s mission.
- Assist with providing mentorship to local artists and the community.
- Assist with building SWAG+SC’s capacity for inclusivity and accessibility within all programs and initiatives.
- Assist with building relationships with community stakeholders to enhance program participation, engagement, and member retention.
- Member will complete all required training, professional development, and Days of Service as determined by Souris Basin Planning Council.
