About the Role: As a Hospice Tuck-In Volunteer, you will play a vital role in providing support to our hospice patients and their families. Your primary responsibility will be to check in with patients (by phone) before the weekend to ensure they have the supplies and support they need. This simple, but powerful, task helps our patients feel secure and well-prepared for the days ahead.

Key Responsibilities:

• Call hospice patients and/or caregivers once a week (typically Thursdays or Fridays).
• Ensure patients have the medications, supplies, and equipment they need for the weekend.
• Provide emotional support through conversation and offer a comforting presence.
• Communicate any patient needs or concerns to the hospice care team.

Requirements:

• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• A compassionate and caring attitude.
• Ability to work independently.
• Basic organizational skills to keep track of calls and needs.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Background check and training provided.

Time Commitment:

• Flexible volunteer hours, typically 2-3 hours per week.
• Volunteer in our office.
