We are seeking registered pet therapy teams to join our volunteer program and provide comfort to our hospice patients located at Deephaven Woods Senior Living! Opportunities to see others residents at the nursing facility as well if desired.
We are looking for a team to see our patients at least once or twice per month to provide companionship, joy, and smiles! Schedule is flexible to what day/times you have available - we appreciate any time you have!
Requirements:
- Proof of pet therapy certification
- Application/background study (Can provide copy of background study if once was completed though pet therapy training)
- Brief hospice volunteer orientation

Description
Volunteers are a vital part of our dedicated hospice team. By offering a few hours of their time a month, they bring peace, joy, and comfort to individuals navigating the last chapter of their life.
Volunteer roles: Companionship, pet therapy, card making, hairstylist, music, and vigil.
Service area: We serve patients throughout Minnesota wherever they consider home. This could be a long-term care center, assisted living, group home, private home, etc. Most of our current patients reside in Champlin, Ramsey, Plymouth, Minnetonka, Bloomington, and Monticello, but we are always continuing to grow and expand!
Time commitment/schedule: Flexible to your schedule! Visits can be made during the week or weekend. We usually ask that our companion/friendly visit volunteers visit weekly or every other week for about an hour.
