Shear Compassion: Cosmetologists Needed for Hospice Patients (Hudson County)
ORGANIZATION: Bayada Hospice - New Jersey
Please visit the new page to apply.
BAYADA Hospice is reaching out to the local community in search of some very special, and very NEEDED volunteers: licensed cosmetologists that would be willing to donate their time and talents to patients at end of life that are unable to transport from their homes for a haircut/haircare. Our patients and families are often facing extreme physical, emotional, financial, and time constraints at end of life. Haircuts and haircare often fall by the wayside when dealing with new and often overwhelming diagnoses, but one simple act of physical self care can make all the difference in a person's feelings of peace, self-worth, sense of self, autonomy, and comfort during a time of great uncertainty and loss. If you or someone you know may be interested in spending a few hours a week to help make a hospice patient feel like themself again - please, reach out!
