Belfort House Gardening Projects
The Ignite Community Garden located on-site at Belfort House provides endless opportunities for volunteers and youth to contribute. Having a garden allows youth to see the benefits of growing food crops and learn how to care for and maintain their outdoor space.
Group Gardening Project Tasks - Volunteers will help with seasonal needs including:
Weeding and clearing out debris from bushes and plant beds
Harvesting vegetables & flowers
Watering pots and beds
Raking and Digging
Cleaning up grounds around the property
Picking Apples from our tree!

Description
Ignite (formerly known as Teen Living Programs) has successfully served at-risk youth in Chicago since 1976. Ignite provides an array of services to hundreds of homeless youth each year. The continuum of services includes: referall, street outreach, emergency shelter, transitional living programs, independent living programs, education, vocational and employment services, primary health care, and after care.
Volunteers enrich our programs and services provided at our Hub Drop-In Center, Belfort residential house, Bronzeville Youth Shelter, and to our CaSSA and NextGen residents.
