Hello Especially Needed Volunteers!
The Especially Needed Fall Carnival is coming up and we really need your help. We have 75 volunteer positions available.
REGISTER @ https://ENVolunteerFallCarnival2024.eventbrite.com. It's time for our most anticipated event of the year, our Fall Carnival! Especially Needed can't host such a fun and exciting event without the assistance of amazing volunteers like you! Here are the event specifics:

- This event is happening outside
- It will be at the Miracle League Ballpark Field in Frisco, TX (Harold Bacchus Community Park @ 13995 Main St, Frisco, TX 75034)
- The Fall Carnival event is happening on Saturday October 26,2024, 4pm-7pm (family attendence time)
- The volunteer shifts on October 26th vary from 12:30pm-2pm, 2pm-3:30pm, 3:15pm-7:30pm, 2:30pm-8pm, 6:45pm-8pm. REGISTER at REGISTER @ https://ENVolunteerFallCarnival2024.eventbrite.com, to find the right volunteer shift for you.
As always, our Fall Carnival is filled with fun activities for the families. We will have carnival games, food, drinks, dancing, trick or treating, face painting, a balloon artist, a resource fair and much more!
Ready to be a part of the magic this year?
We have several volunteer shifts available and know that every single role is vital to the success of the carnival. There are a couple of things to consider before signing up to volunteer:
- We ask that all volunteers are 14 and up.
- We ask that any students that require written validation of their volunteer hours seek out our volunteer coordinator after your volunteer shift is over so that she can sign your paperwork.
- Be aware of the weather - if you sign up for a shift and area that may be outside and if it is cold please wear warm sweaters, gloves, closed-toed shoes and/or anything else you may need to be comfortable.
- Honor your commitment - we need all hands on deck during the entire shift
- Bring a positive attitude - it's a fun event and a beautiful day to be a part of! Be ready to work, have fun and make a difference with Especially Needed!

Mission Statement
"Celebrating our differences. Celebrating Life!" The mission of Especially Needed is to build a strong community where individuals with special needs are valued, respected and included. There have been several events hosted by Especially Needed including Annual Fall Carnival but also A Special Time with Santa and an Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Several families from McKinney and surrounding cities have attended the events. The events are successful due to the hard work of our dedicated volunteers and committed sponsors.
Description
Especially Needed was founded in June of 2010 by Heather Astuto. Heather has a daughter with Down Syndrome and discovered how difficult it was to find activities in which she and her family could participate. She also wanted to meet other families in the community that shared the same struggles, stories and experiences. With the help from volunteers, Especially Needed hosted its first Fall Carnival in October of 2010. Families from McKinney and surrounding cities came out to join in the festivities and the positive feedback and praise was tremendous. Especially Needed now hosts not only the Annual Fall Carnival but also A Special Time with Santa and an Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Especially Needed believes that families should have the ability to attend fun events like these with ease so that they can focus on what's important; spending quality time with each other and making special memories. Today, in addition to our successful events, Especially Needed is working diligently to close the gaps and fill the needs of the community we serve, providing resources to individuals with special needs and their families as well as supporting local business partners.
