People Living In Recovery in Athens, Georgia provides recovery support to individuals and families in the community who are in recovery from substance use and mental health challenges. We promote self-determination and wellness as defined by those receiving services. Our Recovery Community Organization (RCO) was born in 2018 when leadership acquired funding from the Georgia Council of Substance Abuse. We are currently funded primarily by an Addiction Recovery Support Center (ARSC) grant from the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD). We have also received grant funding from the Vera Institute of Justice, the Piedmont Community Foundation, and the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government.

We are currently looking for several new board members who can bring needed skills to the organization. We are especially looking for diverse individuals with experience in organizational finances (e.g., fundraising, accounting, grant-seeking), human resources, and public relations.
