Position Overview: D.A.R.T. (Direct Action Response Team) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Grant Writer to help secure funding for our disaster response efforts. This volunteer role is critical in researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Your work will directly contribute to equipping and deploying teams during natural and man-made disasters, helping save lives and support affected communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities aligned with DART’s mission.
  • Write clear, compelling, and well-structured grant proposals, applications, and reports.
  • Collaborate with leadership to gather relevant information for proposals, including data, financials, and organizational impact.
  • Maintain an organized database of grant deadlines, applications, and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor and report on the status of submitted grants.

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing, research, and communication skills.
  • Previous experience in grant writing (volunteer or professional) is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for DART’s mission to respond to disasters.
  • Experience with nonprofit fundraising and understanding of funding sources is a plus.

DART recruits and trains highly skilled volunteers, including veterans and first responders, equipping them with cutting-edge technology and comprehensive training to ensure readiness for any emergency. Our veteran-led teams deliver critical support in search and rescue operations, medical aid, and logistical coordination, working closely with local authorities and emergency services. With a commitment to excellence, integrity, and community engagement, DART strives to be the premier national disaster response organization, making a significant impact in disaster response and recovery efforts.
