Join us in creating lasting change! Our nonprofit is seeking Grant Writing and Resource Development experienced Professionals to help expand our reach and impact. We are dedicated to providing food and economic security through agricultural exports, food distribution, and decision-support software.

We work with food banks across the US and support food relief efforts in eight countries throughout the Caribbean and Central America. Our initiatives focus on:

* Providing direct food aid through bulk shipments of staple crops like beans, rice, and oats.

* Developing software tools that democratize access to market data, empowering food producers to stay in business and contribute to local economic stability.

* Partnering with ESRI, Planet Labs, Academia, and agricultural professionals to create a GIS-based crop yield prediction tool, ensuring more accurate and timely agricultural production insights.

Resource Development Role:

* Cultivate relationships with potential donors and existing supporters.

* Leverage your existing donor network to secure funding.

* Assist in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to ensure our nonprofit’s long-term sustainability.

Grant Writing Role:

* Research and apply for relevant grants from various organizations.

* Write compelling proposals that align with our mission.

* Work with our team to ensure deadlines are met and funding goals achieved.

Qualifications:

* Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or donor relations.

* Strong communication and networking skills.

* A passion for agriculture, food security, or economic development.

* Familiarity with GIS tools or agricultural software is a plus (but not required).

Commitment:

This is a remote opportunity with flexible hours. We ask for a commitment of at least 5-10 hours per week.

Food Aid Project, Inc. is a nonprofit organization (501(c)(3)) committed to enhancing food and economic security. Our mission focuses on improving the efficiency and accessibility of bulk food procurement and distribution networks. Additionally, we offer procurement and merchandising assistance, along with decision-making support, to farmers, exporters, domestic food banks, international non-governmental organizations, and government agencies worldwide. Through our efforts, we adhere to IRS charitable purpose guidelines by providing relief to the poor, distressed, and underprivileged, alleviating government burdens, reducing neighborhood tensions, and combating community deterioration.
