HELP OUT: San Diego Int'l Film Festival

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: San Diego Film Foundation

The San Diego International Film Festival is a world-renowned annual festival each October. The festival week supports the San Diego Film Foundation's efforts for their Focus on Impact program which brings films to all the high schools in San Diego County along with curriculum to inspire youth to go out and do good in the world.

The festival will take place across four full days at the same venue. There are six different teams you can assist on. Their greatest need currently is for volunteers to support with setting up the event, breaking down the event, serving as ushers, providing customer service, and helping in the lounge. Additional roles can be found on their website.

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

Attire: Black pants or dark jeans. The festival will provide a volunteer crew shirt. This opportunity takes place both indoors and outdoors

Bring: The less you bring, the better as there is no secure place to store personal items.

Physical Requirements: Event logistics may need to pull a wagon to transport items from garage to event space or back. And then assist with setting up those items. Theater Ops shifts may need to use a ticket scanner. For both door monitor and theater ops there is standing involved, but volunteers can sit down when it slows down as the lines ebb and flow. This project is able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations except for the event logistics shift. The space where this project takes place is wheelchair accessible.

Weather: If it's wet, the event will move indoors entirely.

Photos: There will be many photographers taking photos which may be used online. If you are assisting with a shift, please don't be on your phone.

Note: An all-day parking voucher to cover the parking cost at UTC La Jolla will be provided to volunteers.
