Join us as a volunteer for the Poudre FIRST LEGO League Challenge Qualifier on Saturday, November 9th at Poudre High School in Fort Collins, CO. Support students as they compete in exciting LEGO-based robotics challenges.
FIRST LEGO League Challenge introduces children ages 9-14* to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through fun and exciting hands-on learning. Participants engage in real-world problem-solving as part of a guided, global robotics program. They work together to build a better future while developing valuable skills.
This program combines the challenge of a robotics competition with inventing solutions to real-world problems. Team members gain experience in STEM and learn essential life and work skills along the way. At the heart of the program are the FIRST Core Values, which emphasize teamwork, inclusion, discovery, and innovation. These values teach participants that friendly competition and collaboration go hand in hand, and that helping others is the key to success.
Volunteers are essential to making these events happen! The upcoming FIRST LEGO League Challenge events need volunteers to help students demonstrate their creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills through LEGO-based robotics challenges.
Volunteer opportunities include roles such as:
- Judges (presentation and robot performance judging)
- Referees (monitoring matches and enforcing rules)
- Field reset (helping prepare the field between rounds)
- Crowd control, safety glasses attendant, and more!
Some roles require a full or multi-day commitment (e.g., judging, refereeing), while others are perfect for those with only a few hours to spare, like field reset or crowd control.
