Overview:

The Marketing Committee of the Ted Rhodes Foundation plays a crucial role in building awareness, promoting events, and supporting the Foundation's mission to preserve golf pioneer Ted Rhodes’ legacy while fostering youth development through golf. Committee members will contribute to strategic marketing initiatives aimed at increasing visibility, engagement, and support for the Foundation’s programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Marketing Strategies: Collaborate with fellow committee members to create and implement marketing plans aligned with the Foundation’s goals, including events like the Trailblazer Classic and other initiatives.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent use of the Foundation's brand across all communications, digital platforms, and events.
  • Content Creation: Contribute to the creation of marketing materials, including press releases, social media posts, email newsletters, and event promotions.
  • Social Media Management: Assist in managing and growing the Foundation’s presence across social media channels by creating engaging posts, sharing updates, and responding to followers.
  • Public Relations: Help cultivate media relationships and secure press coverage for the Foundation’s initiatives, including special events and milestones.
  • Event Marketing: Support the promotion of fundraising events and community outreach programs, ensuring maximum participation and visibility.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Monitor the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust strategies based on data insights and performance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in marketing, communications, or public relations (volunteer or professional experience preferred).
  • Strong writing and communication skills, particularly for content creation.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva).
  • Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for golf, youth development, and/or nonprofit work is a plus.

Our mission is to preserve and honor the legacy of golfing pioneer Theodore "Ted" Rhodes.

Description

Ted Rhodes’ vision was to make the game of golf open to all races. The Foundation is honoring his vision by creating pipelines of African Americans to work in the golf industry as golfers or professionals working in the golf industry by hosting educational events, golf clinics, and golf tournaments for youth and adults. Our youth program is Future Golfers of America " Growing the Champions of Tomorrow’. We provide financial support to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) golf programs and golf team members to help further this mission. We also partner with local urban youth golf programs. Opening doors to the world of golf.
