Governors Island Guide
ORGANIZATION: National Park Service
Please visit the new page to apply.
Working closely with the rangers at Governors Island National Monument, volunteers will assist in operating tours and visitor services. Volunteers will be relied upon as stewards of the historic forts and wellsprings of knowledge about the history of the island. Work will be public-facing and mostly outdoors. Training materials and time on or off-site will be provided to the volunteer to promote site knowledge before public interactions. A uniform will be provided and will be required during working hours. This site requires a minimum of 4 service hours biweekly, but a schedule can be agreed upon with site volunteer coordinator. Volunteer will need to coordinate their own transportation to and from the site.
