DGFT has been implementing environmental conservation programs with the aim of fighting the climate change, global warming threat, land degradation, drying out of spring water, severe soil e Duluti Green Foundation Trust (DGFT) is a result of the endlessly effort of Ms. Gladness Obed Pallangyo whose vision has always be, seeing environments conserved and local community make use of it to improve its wellbeing. DGFT runs Environment Conservation Program through Village Environmental Conservation Initiative he (VECI).
For about ten years, through VECI, DGFT has managed to plant thousands of trees of different species in various areas of Arumeru District. With this regard, 500 tree shave been planted in West Meru Hospital, 5000 on the slopes of Mount Meru, 1000 trees on water sources (catchment areas), 500 trees at Malala, 300 trees at Maring’a Akheri village and 200 shade trees at Step by Step Learning Center (SSLC), 2500 indigenous trees at Nkoarisambu hill. Other trees have been planted in various primary and secondary schools. This has been possible through establishment of environmental clubs in these schools. Schools that are from this initiative are Mavinuni, Kimundo and Sing’isi Primary Schools. Secondary schools include Kikwe, Kitefu, Malula, Lakitatu, Uraki, Nshupu, Makiba and Maji ya Chai. Other Secondary Schools which have already supplied trees and planted are Kisimiri, Mbughuni and Akheri and improve the living standard of the people.

OUR MISSION IS TO;  To improve the socio-economic conditions of the people in need.  To improve the general welfare of the communities whenever the foundation will be working.  To create and improve social amenities for members and surrounding communities living within and outside the Trust area.  To develop community based projects that will enhance the welfare of the members and general public.  To organize and participate in development activities by way of seminars and workshops in order to broaden the members’ and other participants knowledge base.  To promote tourism, culture and environmental activities.  To carry on any other activities that would benefit the whole community at large.  To organize volunteering programs i.e. on HIV/AIDS, TB, MALARIA and other diseases and natural disasters.  To educate people on environmental issues and  To fund orphanage centers, nurseries, training centers and secondary schools.

Description

Duluti Green Foundation Trust (DGFT) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization that carries out its functions and duties in Tanzania Mainland. DGFT was founded in 2005 and legally registered by the government in 2008 with the Registration number 3426 under the Trustee Incorporation Act cap 318, RE. 2002.
DGFT has rooted its activities in empowering the local community and environmental conservation through planting trees, protection of water catchment areas and raising awareness to the community on environmental conservation, educating young girls in schools on early marriages and early pregnancy, supporting widow women and old people together with the orphanages around our village.
