Join Us as a Volunteer for Our Children’s Gardening Class!
Are you passionate about gardening and working with kids? We invite you to help facilitate our Children's Gardening Class at the El Nido Farmers Market every Saturday from 10 AM to 12 PM!
Class Curriculum Overview:Each week, we’ll engage children in hands-on activities that explore different aspects of gardening and nature. Here’s what we have planned:
Week 1 & 2: Soil and Compost
- Week 1 Activity: Soil Pudding Cups - A fun, edible project to learn about soil layers!
- Week 2 Activity: Grow Your Own Plants - Kids will plant seeds and learn how to care for them.
Week 3: Seeds
- Activity: Seed Bombs - A creative way to learn about seed dispersal and planting!
Week 4: Companion Planting
- Activity: Three Sisters Art Project - Explore the concept of companion planting through art.
Week 5: Pollinators
- Activity: Bee Crowns - Celebrate the importance of bees while making fun wearable art.
Week 6: Native Plants
- Activity: Nature Bracelets - Kids will collect natural materials to create beautiful bracelets.
Week 7: Herbal Remedies
- Activity: Tea and Herbal Playdough Making - Discover the benefits of herbs through tasty tea and playful creations.
As a volunteer, you will help set up activities, assist children during projects, and create a fun and educational environment. Your enthusiasm and guidance will inspire young minds and cultivate a love for gardening!
****Commitment:- Start Date: October 19th
- When: Saturdays, 10 AM - 12 PM
- Duration: Seven Weeks
