Help A Couple Facing ALS With Chores or Yard Work (Spearfish)

A 55-year-old woman with ALS and her spouse would appreciate a volunteer to help them around the house with a variety of things: cleaning/organizing, chores, yard work, and/or writing letters. (Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in any of these things: you would not need to do them all!) They are open to scheduling on an "as-needed" basis (no set frequency): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday mornings work best with their schedule. They would ideally like a volunteer who is able to come by for about 2 hours at a time: for those with allergies, they are cat owners.

Description

What is ALS?

ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a degenerative disease of the central nervous system. ALS results in the progressive weakness of voluntary muscles which often leads to total paralysis. There is no known cause or cure for ALS. People with ALS typically live between two and five years after being diagnosed.

How does The ALS Association help?

We fulfill our mission by offering programs, services, and equipment free of charge to anyone affected by ALS residing in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
