Volunteer 30 minutes- 1 hour a week to read with a WCPSS student.
● Inspire a love of books and reading
● Read one-on-one with a Kindergarten, first, or second grade student
● This is not a tutoring program- the goal is to encourage/foster the love of reading books
● Heroes Read students receive free books per session to build/create a collection for their home library
● Volunteer training is provided.

● October - May
● Heroes Read takes place during school hours
● Time commitment- thirty minutes to one hour per week

Smith Magnet Elementary is a Pre-K-5th grade Wake County Public School. We are a Dual Immersion (Spanish & Chinese) International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.
