Restoration Work Party in the Point Defiance Rhododendron Garden, 11/9/24, 9am-noon!

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Metro Parks Tacoma

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • Spots available: 10+

The Rhododendron Garden at Point Defiance Park was designed as a natural display of rhododendrons in the wild as this garden is nestled in a stand of old growth forest at 5 mile road.

The nearly five-acre site was established in 1968 in cooperation with the Tacoma Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society, which continues to provide support.

Now, new Stewards are taking on the continued care of the garden and this your chance to get involved!

We’d love your help removing plants and debris which do not belong, pruning dead wood from the Rhododendron bushes, and creating mulch rings around them, too!

All ages and abilities are welcome to join! Rain or shine! Tools and training provided.
