Under the California Rules of Court, qualified and experienced attorneys may volunteer their time to serve as part of the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara's Temporary Judge Program. Temporary Judges are appointed and serve at the discretion of the Court.

The Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara is pleased to announce that a session of Bench Conduct and Demeanor for Temporary Judges will be offered on August 8, 2025, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. Judge Sunil Kulkarni and Judge Lori Pegg will serve as the instructors for this live remote class, which is required to serve as a temporary judge.

Civil Grand Jury: Service on the Civil Grand Jury is a unique privilege and responsibility. As a member of the panel, you’ll play a vital role in holding local government accountable, ensuring that public institutions operate fairly, transparently, and in the best interests of the people they serve.

Temporary Judge Program: Under the California Rules of Court, qualified and experienced attorneys may volunteer their time to serve as part of the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara's Temporary Judge Program. The Court continuously recruits volunteer attorneys to serve in this capacity for the Civil, Family, Small Claims, Traffic, and Probate divisions. Interested attorneys who have been members of the California State Bar for at least ten years are encouraged to apply online.
