Recruiting Organization: South Carolina First Steps

South Carolina First Steps (SC First Steps) is the state’s dedicated early childhood agency and nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the opportunity gap for our state’s children youngest learners. We are seeking multiple talented individuals ready for a year of service to share their passion for helping others. Join our team as AmeriCorps VISTAs in the areas of communications, fundraising, nonprofit management, volunteer engagement, and early childhood system building.

Positions are based at the SC First Steps office in Columbia, SC. A great opportunity for new graduates, career-changers, retirees and other service-minded individuals to make a difference in the lives of South Carolina’s young children and their families.

AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a national service learning program that helps local nonprofit organizations expand their capacity in order to lift people and communities out of poverty. Service terms are full-time for one year and feature a living allowance, end-of-service education award, and professional development.
