Project Overview

Join us to plant trees alongside community members. You will be led by experienced staff and volunteers as we break off into groups and plant new street trees. Light lunch and snacks will be provided and enjoyed as a thank you for helping us make San Fransico a greener place.

Schedule:

• 8:45am: Arrival and Check-In
• 9:15am: Welcome and Safety Speech
• 9:30am: Break into Groups with Planting Leaders, Begin Working
• 12:30pm - 1:00 pm: Return Tools (end time is subject to change depending on the last tree in the ground)
• After Planting Your Group's Trees: Lunch & Goodbyes Together, we will help expand the tree canopy coverage to provide the benefits of trees to our neighbors!

About Friends of the Urban Forest

Friends of the Urban Forest is a nonprofit committed to the belief that trees are a critical element of a livable urban environment. Through community involvement and youth education, they offer financial, technical, and practical assistance to individuals and neighborhood groups who want to plant and care for trees.

Project Requirements & Important Notes

• Please dress comfortably, garden friendly attire.Please bring reusable water bottle and light layers.

• Please do your part in keeping our community healthy. If you are immuno-compromised, at increased risk for severe illness, or feeling sick at all, please decline your registration to the event and register for a project at a less risky time. For additional resources and guidance on how to keep yourself healthy, visit the CDC website.

If you are interested in signing up as a group, please email sarah@handsonbayarea.org. For a one-time $50 group sign-up fee, we can assist your team with signing up. Please note we are unable to customize our commUNITY calendar projects and are unable to increase the number of spots that are available. For groups wanting a custom project, please refer to our corporate volunteering program.
