Chicago Education Advocacy Cooperative (ChiEAC) is a 501c3 nonprofit formed in January 2020 focused on serving the needs of some of Chicago’s most vulnerable students. Our mission is to connect Black and Latine students with practical pathways to upward social mobility through education in South Chicago by providing individualized social and cultural navigation through the school system through our Revolutionary Student Sponsorship (RSS) program.
As a grant writer for our organization, you can contribute your time to helping us fund the RSS program and other general operating costs. Grant writing is challenging, and grant finding is even more challenging. We were blessed with a small general operating expense grant which we invested into an annual membership with TheShareway which offers an all-in-one opportunity for nonprofits to research and apply for various grant and in-kind donation opportunities.
Volunteers for this role do not necessarily need any grant writing experience, although it does help. We feel this role would be best for a volunteer because the ideal candidates can access the dashboard at times that are convenient for them and submit as many applications as they would like. At a minimum, we expect at least ONE grant completed per month.
If you would be interested in working to help build our organization and serve students in Chicago, please send a resume to Dr. Benjamin Drury at benjamin@chieac.org for consideration.
