Hospice volunteers enhance the quality of life for the patient and family and help reduce the burden of caregiving. Volunteers are generally available to provide different types of support to patients and their loved ones to include, but not limited to, preparation of light meals, staying with a patient to give family members a break, lending emotional support and companionship to patients and family members, and helping out with light housekeeping. Volunteers also assist with administrative tasks to support hospice operations.
