The Greenbrier Historical Society is looking for volunteers on both a regular and one-time basis in a variety of volunteer positions. Join the vibrant GHS community and make a difference! Below are a few ways to get involved with us:
- Tour Guides & Front Desk Support: Lead visitors on enlightening tours of our historic sites and provide assistance at the front desk, welcoming guests and answering inquiries.
- Archives & Organization: Dive into history by assisting with organizing and cataloging our extensive collection of historical documents and artifacts, ensuring they are preserved for future generations.
- Exhibit Design & Installation: Use your creativity to help design and install captivating exhibits that showcase our rich history and heritage, creating immersive experiences for our visitors.
- Educational Programming: Assist in developing and implementing educational programs for visitors of all ages, sharing the fascinating history of our region in engaging and interactive ways.

Founded in 1963, the Greenbrier Historical Society is dedicated to community enrichment through education and preservation of the diverse history and culture of the Greenbrier Valley. As a regional organization, we serve four West Virginia counties; Greenbrier, Monroe, Summers, and Pocahontas. We own and manage four properties; the North House Museum & Archives, the Barracks, the Blue Sulphur Springs Pavilion, and the 1834 Supreme Court of Appeals Law Library & Study Building.
