In honor of National Veteran & Military Family Appreciation Month, NPower is creating a special volunteering opportunity that supports aspiring Hispanic tech leaders with mentorship!

Mentor a young adult from an under-resourced community or a military-connected individual and change the trajectory of their life in as little as 30 minutes a week. Success is not just about professional milestones but also about personal growth and cultural pride.

This is a great opportunity to help change the trajectory of a student’s life by being a trusted advisor to share insight on navigating the workplace, sharing professional leadership experience, supporting in identifying career goals, and boosting their confidence.

You have an opportunity to make a lasting impact on NPower students while developing your own leadership skills.

We currently have hundreds of NPower students that are hoping to be matched with a mentor as they transition later this year to launch their careers in tech.

Join the NPowerMATCH program to get matched with a mentee and make a difference today! Please visit this page to get started! https://www.npower.org/mentor/

About NPower

Location:

55 Washington St, Brooklyn, NY 11201, US

Mission Statement

NPower creates pathways to economic prosperity by launching digital careers for military veterans and young adults from under-represented communities.

Description

We focus on two populations that experience barriers to employment - low-income veterans and young adults (ages 18-26) - and give them the support, skills, and industry-recognized certification needed to fill in-demand tech jobs. We offer our program free of charge to those who need us most - men and women earning less than 200% of the federal poverty level - and they primarily come from racial and socioeconomic backgrounds underrepresented in the tech industry. Our work addresses some of the biggest challenges of our times: racial inequities in access to education and opportunity, rampant unemployment, and lack of diversity in the tech workforce.

Founded in 2000, NPower has grown to operate in various markets across the country: New York, New Jersey, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, Texas, and California.
