The BLISS-full Thanksgiving Program provides not just a meal, but also connection and companionship to isolated, low-income seniors, fostering a sense of belonging during a lonely season. By serving festive meals or delivering them to housebound seniors, Bliss Care Founation can strengthen relationships and identify those needing ongoing care. Volunteers experience the joy of making a difference by engaging personally with seniors, creating bonds, and deepening community ties while helping the most vulnerable.

Volunteers will gather at the prep location to prepare and pack the Thanksgiving meals. They will work together in the community room to assemble and package each meal, ensuring everything is ready for delivery. Once the meals are packed, volunteer will disperse the meals to the designated delivery areas, all located within El Cajon. Volunteers can choose to drive themselves or carpool to their assigned locations.

Each volunteer will deliver a fully prepared holiday meal, along with paper products, directly to seniors' homes, accompanied by a smile and warm holiday wishes. This effort ensures that each senior receives not just a nourishing meal, but also the personal touch and festive cheer of the season.

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

Attire: Comfortable clothing and shoes, festive attire encouraged. This opportunity takes place indoors.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to use hands and arms without fatigue. Sitting is allowed. This project is able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations by making seats available. The space where this project takes place is wheelchair accessible.

Photos: BLISS Care Foundation asks volunteers to sign a photo release, however no one is required to participate in photos if they choose not to.

Note: BLISS Care Foundation is not religiously affiliated, however, they will say a blessing over the meal before the service.
