Mission Statement
Founded in 2011, Tree Angels for Haiti is a nonprofit environmental/educational organization whose mission is to help restore a degraded environment and deforestation caused primarily by massive tree cutting in a country where only 2% of forested land remains. We create a sustainable wellness and educative programs capable of helping communities in Haiti take charge of their environment as well as their health.
Description
People in high-poverty communities turn to tree cutting as a mean of income and therefore destroy the source of clean air, water and rich soils. By growing trees and distributing them to everyone in the communities we serve, we help promote the benefits of these trees, help bring back disappearing tree species and also educate the population about the multiple benefits of these trees. The organization also tours schools, community centers, churches, etc. and invites students, active community leaders, clergy and local governmental leaders to take charge and help restore their environment. by devoted and caring people who wished to make a difference, Tree Angels for Haiti addresses the call for engaging people who also have a passion and desire to help those who are in greater need. This year marks of 5 th.year of operation and we are proud to say that we’ve planted and distributed over 77 000 trees and donated over 500 backpacks full of educational material to participating children and families through our Backpack for Haiti program. We have also partnered with a 3 schools and started a sponsorship program called: Teachers helping Teachers.
