Second annual Pumpkin Dash on the SUN 'n FUN Campus.

Volunteer roles available are

  • · 5K Trail Attendant (tell runners which way to go)
  • · Distribute Packets (check runners in, give them their welcome packet-from the Main registration building)
  • · Cheerleaders (Provide runners encouragement)
  • · Front gate attendant (tell people where to go and how to get there)
  • · Parking ambassador (free gift when you complete a shift -help folks park straight and where they are supposed to)

Mission Statement

SUN 'n FUN's mission is to Engage! Educate! & Accelerate! the next generation of Aerospace Professionals.

Description

We are heading into a massive shortage of all professions related to anything aviation. We are helping to fill that gap through scholarships for private pilots, supporting the Polk County Public High School Central Florida Aerospace Academy and its five aviation tracks, providing every fifth grade class in Polk County a field trip through our Florida Air Museum and our STEM SkyLabs as well as collaborating with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) to create a middle school STEM and aviation curriculum offered throughout the country.
We do this through our primary fund raiser, our annual Fly-In SUN 'n FUN each spring and multiple other local evens throughout the year. These events are possible with the help of volunteers. Last year we needed 3,700 volunteers just for the Fly-In! There is room for you!
