Our new department Community Engagement - (CEC) is looking for volunteers to help with assembling birthday baskets, CEC packets, and help with phone calls to families. We have other items that will need to be created for the patients. If you have 2 hours a week to help, some items can be done at home or in the office, please reach out to helen.burgoyne@amedisys.com to learn more about our CEC program.

No matter who you are, you've got something to offer hospice patients. Typically, the needs are simple - companionship and friendship, emotional support, someone to listen- but the small things you do can make an enormous difference in someone's life. Volunteers are supervised by a volunteer coordinator and supported by other members of the patient care team. The Beacon Hospice approach to care creates a patient and family environment of hope, comfort, and dignity. This approach is extended through our volunteers, who can make an enormous differnece in someone's life.
