Join our team of dedicated CASA of Franklin County volunteers and make a profound difference in the lives of children involved in the juvenile court system. As a CASA volunteer, you will play a crucial role in advocating for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
The Volunteer Role:
- Maintain regular contact with the child, visiting with them monthly in their home/placement.
- Communicate objectively with children, social workers, foster care providers, therapists, teachers, attorneys, parents, or other family members who may be involved in the case.
- Conduct independent investigations and gather relevant information to provide the court with comprehensive reports.
- Monitor the child's progress in foster care or other placements, ensuring their well-being and safety.
- Attend court hearings, reviews and/or meetings necessary for assigned case.
- Review files, including school and/or medical records related to the assigned case.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all interactions and activities related to assigned case.

A CASA Volunteer:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Completes a screening process and background checks
- Receives 40 hours of initial training
- Serves an average of 7-15 hours a month
- Makes a 2-year volunteer commitment
No experience is necessary and training is provided.
