Post It Love, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to writing handwritten notes of encouragement for elementary students, is seeking a talented and passionate Spanish Translator to join our team. As a translator, you’ll play a pivotal role in crafting engaging and impactful translations that ensure our messages reach and inspire a wider audience, including Spanish-speaking students and families. This is a fantastic opportunity to hone your translation skills, build your portfolio, and make a tangible difference in the lives of students.
About Post It Love: Post It Love focuses on emotional support through handwritten notes, reminding elementary students that they are cared for and capable of overcoming challenges. We recognize the power of positive affirmation in nurturing resilience, perseverance, and self-esteem. Our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential by filling the emotional support gap that often accompanies academic growth.
Responsibilities:
- Translate compelling and heartfelt content for social media, newsletters, and website updates from English to Spanish
- Ensure accurate, culturally appropriate, and motivational translations that reflect our mission of emotional support
- Work closely with content creators to develop storytelling content that highlights student impact and program success in both languages
- Collaborate with our social media manager to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms in English and Spanish
- Assist with translating press releases, blog posts, and donor communications
- Proofread and edit translated content to maintain a high standard of quality
Requirements:
- Fluency in both written and spoken Spanish and English
- Strong translation, editing, and proofreading skills
- Ability to convey empathy and positivity through translation
- Experience in translation or a related field
- A passion for uplifting others and contributing to a meaningful cause
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with social media content writing is a plus
- Enthusiasm for our mission and the ability to capture the spirit of our organization through translation
