As a Bristol Hospice Volunteer you visit with patients either in facilites or in their homes. Volunteers spend maybe an hour or two with a patient either once a week or a few times a week. It all depends on what your availability is.
You can spend time reading, playing a game, helping with light housekeeping, doing a craft or just visiting. Many patients enjoy just having a hand to hold.
We have patients located from Brigham City down to Bountiful.

Mission Statement
Bristol Hospice is graciously committed to our mission that all patients and families entrusted in our care will be treated with the highest level of compassion, respect and quality of care.
Description
Bristol hospice volunteers are generally available to provide different types of support to patients and their loved ones including running errands, preparing light meals, staying with a patient to give family members a break, and lending emotional support and companionship to patients and family members.
Because hospice volunteers spend time in patients' and families' homes, an application and interview process are done to assure the person is right for this type of volunteer work. In addition, there is an organized training program for the patient care volunteers. Areas covered by these training programs often include understanding hospice, confidentiality, working with families, listening skills, signs and symptoms of approaching death, loss and grief and bereavement support.
