If you are interested in mentoring and helping students with STEM Tutoring, STEM For Others will be at Sunrise Middle School from 4-5pm every Thursday. We are currently teaching Java to around 8-10 students in Room C. No preparation is needed in advance, if you love helping kids or want service hours, sign up! (edited)

Our education system is at a crossroads where it is not preparing our students to be competitive at the global level. The issue is more pronounced for socio-economically disadvantaged families as the disparity in STEM education widens as they face substantial hurdles in accessing quality learning opportunities. We believe that advancement in STEM is the greatest equalizer that creates the greatest opportunities for upward mobility. Our mission is to make a concerted effort to provide deeper and more targeted programs that focus on equitable access to STEM education.

Description

STEM for Others (https://www.stemforothers.org) is continuing to grow and we're looking for help in a multitude of areas including:

  • Mentorship - Becoming strong mentors to help students thrive in their schools
  • Curriculum Development - Designing engaging curriculum across various STEM categories
  • Programming - Frontend and backend development of new learning games and software
  • Chapter President - Leading a school or a school district to organize activities for an entire region of schools
  • Social Media / Marketing - Expanding the brand and reach of STEM for Others through social media and other marketing channels
