The Role:

Save the Water(tm) is seeking a Development Associate: Digital Partnership. This role is responsible for strengthening core fund-raising services through the application of technology and new digital strategies. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career in nonprofits and/or fundraising development by seeing how it all works in a creative, dynamic environment. This is an unpaid, remote volunteer opportunity and must be responsive to emails within 36 hours.

What you will be responsible for.....

  • Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects.
  • Work towards the development of the organization's web and social media presence, initiating improvements in digital/ online operations and systems, and working with the Project Leader and Director to improve digital fundraising tools.
  • Manage Donor correspondence, including reports, proposals, acknowledgment letters, etc.
  • Lead proposal writing and year-end report writing for major gift acquisitions, finding new sponsors and renewals
  • Working cross-departmentally, initiate and coordinate all web updates for Development
  • Support Development’s growth in the digital arena by keeping up-to-date on current trends, and facilitating the implementation of new initiatives across the department
  • Should be able to attend virtual team meetings as scheduled in the EST timezone.
  • Develop standard operating procedures & documents for the department where necessary.

  • A broad understanding of the growing importance of digital fundraising and online presence for a sophisticated fundraising office.
  • A high overall level of computer proficiency and a strong understanding and interest in social media, email and other online marketing tools is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work successfully across multiple departments are important.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in relation to information and documentation
  • Associates degree completed or equivalent work experience (6 months to 1-year full time paid corporate/non - profit work experience).
  • Must be a self-starter who can prioritize tasks with limited supervision
