We are having a winter break camp for 2 days in January. If you are looking for a rewarding volunteers opportunity with kids then we need you!

Camp Ausome's mission is to provide a safe space for children with autism ages 6-11, to engage in fun camp activities with staff and volunteers familiar with autism. The vision is to give children the opportunity to play safely with a compassionate staff that is aware of their abilities and needs. We want to give the children support in learning social skills and participating in activities. Camp activities include sports, music therapy, games and crafts. The activities will encourage participation at any skill level. The goal is to be safe and have fun!

The location is the Affton Community Center located at 9801 MacKenzie Rd, Affton, MO 63123.

Expect campers to be able to engage in physical activity. The maximum number of campers is 10.

Volunteers will help facilitate activities, help engage campers and provide support for staff and campers based on qualifications. Volunteers will participate in activities to encourage campers. We welcome Volunteers seeking internship and practicum experience.

Specific skills that are a plus are autism experience and knowledge, crafting experience, first aid training, nursing skills, childcare experience, creative and outgoing personality.

We have donated sensory boxes for families during Covid 19 to support autistic children. We have adopted families for Christmas. We have donated Easter baskets. We have an annual event, Heroes for Autism 5K and 1 mile race. Finally, we are hosting our summer camp for autism this July 2021.
