ORGANIZATION: Midtown Family Services

1-2 greeters needed each shift to welcome persons coming in to Midtown Family Services for food, capturing their names, street address, and number of children in home as they do, providing guidance on how much of any particular item households may take, and giving out bags. Depending on which day and time for which volunteers register to come in, they may also be involved in receiving food and stocking shelves.

Midtown Family Services' food pantry is open Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, 10:00am to 4:00pm except County of Santa Clara holidays and our Winter Break (this year December 23, 2024 - January 3, 2025.

The ability to speak a second language, particularly Spanish or Vietnamese is a plus.

Mission Statement

Midtown Family Services' mission is to assist individuals and families who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless, become self-sufficient in housing and interdependent domains through timely and evidence-based interventions.

Description

Midtown Family Services provides support for low-income individuals/families living in San Jose and surrounding communities in two program areas: Financial counseling and navigation services for low income, working, members of the community with basic needs; and reentry of individuals back into the community after incarceration in state prison.
