Overview: YardTime Inc. is seeking compassionate and motivated volunteers to serve as Group Facilitators for our Men’s Mental Health Awareness Group. This group provides a safe and supportive space for men to discuss mental health, share their experiences, and build strategies for emotional well-being. As a facilitator, you will play a crucial role in guiding conversations, ensuring a welcoming environment, and encouraging participants to engage in meaningful dialogue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate bi-weekly group discussions centered on mental health awareness, emotional well-being, and personal growth.
  • Create a respectful and inclusive space where participants feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and experiences.
  • Prepare topics or discussion prompts that foster conversation and connection among group members.
  • Actively listen and provide empathetic feedback while encouraging peer support within the group.
  • Monitor group dynamics and address any challenges or concerns to ensure a positive and productive environment.
  • Collaborate with YardTime Inc. staff to report on group progress and participant needs.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for mental health advocacy and supporting men’s mental wellness.
  • Experience in group facilitation, counseling, social work, or peer support preferred (though not required).
  • Strong communication and active listening skills.
  • Ability to create a non-judgmental, inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to the values of YardTime Inc.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and able to commit to bi-weekly Tuesday evening sessions for a minimum of six months.
