Mission Statement

The mission of A Million Acts of Love is to inspire and empower individuals to spread kindness, raise awareness for rare diseases like Blau syndrome, and support families affected by grief. Felix Townsin’s early fundraising efforts--beginning at age five when he wrote a book to raise money for medical research--led to the creation of the Cure Blau Syndrome Foundation, which was started to fundraise for a cure for his sister Lexi. A Million Acts of Love builds on this legacy, aiming to inspire one million acts of kindness by December 16, 2024, highlighting the resilience of rare disease warriors like Lexi and creating lasting positive change in communities around the world.

Description

A Million Acts of Love was started by Felix, who has dedicated his life to raising awareness for rare diseases and spreading kindness in memory of his sister, Lexi. Felix’s journey began at the age of five when he wrote a book to fundraise for medical research, ultimately leading to the creation of the Cure Blau Syndrome Foundation.

After Lexi’s passing, Felix continued his advocacy, speaking at medical conferences around the world and raising over $100,000 for rare disease research. His most ambitious project to date, A Million Acts of Love, aims to inspire one million acts of kindness by December 16, 2024-what would have been Lexi’s 12th birthday. This campaign encourages individuals, families, and communities to participate in acts of love, from volunteering to supporting local causes, all while raising awareness for rare diseases and grief support.

In addition to inspiring kindness, A Million Acts of Love includes the Lexi’s Legends initiative, which provides grants and funding to young changemakers who want to start their own social projects. Felix’s efforts have already inspired tens of thousands of acts of love and connected the rare disease community globally, creating a ripple effect of kindness and hope.

We invite volunteers to join us in spreading love and making a positive impact, whether through mentoring, social media, outreach, or other opportunities. Together, we can help Felix reach his goal and continue Lexi’s legacy of compassion.
