On October 12 th Bayview-Hunters Point Foundation for Community Improvement will be hosting a block party and open house. This event will celebrate our 50+ years of service to the community, and also dedicate the building we were able to purchase! We will have games and activities for kids and information tables from various nonprofit organizations who also primarily serve the Bayview and Hunters Point neighborhoods.
We need volunteers to help with the following: set-up, face painting, monitor the art table, monitor games give building tours, work as crossing guards, break down and clean up.

Description
Originally established to defend the legal rights of African-Americans, BHPFCI diversified its programs over the years to deliver comprehensive services to meet the changing needs of low-income, predominantly Black residents in the Bayview Hunters Point area including substance abuse treatment, behavioral and mental health treatment, youth services, violence prevention/intervention, temporary and permanent supportive housing services, and a food pantry.
