All In The Family Services is seeking dedicated volunteers to assist in our Achieve Fuel Succeed after-school program. This role involves supporting elementary, middle, and high school students from underserved communities with reading and math homework, as well as leading engaging activities that promote academic success and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Homework Assistance: Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring in reading and math, ensuring students understand their assignments and improve their academic skills.

  • Activity Leadership: Lead educational and enrichment activities that encourage learning and creativity, tailored to the age and interests of the students.

  • Mentorship: Build positive relationships with students, serving as a role model and encouraging them to achieve their academic and personal goals.

  • Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a structured and supportive environment conducive to learning, helping to manage student behavior and fostering a sense of community.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with program staff to identify student needs, share observations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the program.

  • Attendance Tracking: Help monitor and record student attendance and participation in activities.

Qualifications
  • Passion for working with youth, especially those from underserved communities.

  • Strong proficiency in reading and math at an elementary to high school level.

  • Experience in tutoring, mentoring, or teaching is preferred but not required.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, adaptability, and the ability to engage students with diverse needs and backgrounds.

  • A commitment to the mission of All In The Family Services and the ability to volunteer reliably during scheduled hours.

Description

All In The Family Services (AFS) was created to support vulnerable families by connecting them with essential relationships and resources. Our goal is to help these families build strong support networks, enhance stability, and achieve long-term success.

Programs:

  • Resource Center: AFS connects families to community resources.
  • Achieve Fuel Succeed After School Program: Held at Chaparral Townhomes in Allen, TX, this program provides latchkey kids with a safe, enriching environment after school, including homework help, activities, and snacks.
  • Workforce Development - 'Bring Your A Game': This curriculum teaches seven foundational workplace skills.
  • Toy and Coat Drives: AFS hosts toy and coat drives during the holiday season to provide families with essential items to keep warm and bring joy to their children during the colder months.
  • Thanksgiving Dinner: AFS hosts a yearly community Thanksgiving dinner.

Achievements:

AFS has made a meaningful impact on families, built strong community partnerships, and empowered participants through education and skill development.
