Position Overview:
Shroomate is looking for an experienced Grant Writer to join our volunteer team and play a critical role in securing funding for our research, development, and educational initiatives. As a Grant Writer, you will help identify and apply for grants that align with our mission of sustainability and community outreach. Your expertise will help support Shroomate’s growth and ensure we can continue making a positive impact in the areas of environmental sustainability and mushroom research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and other funding sources
- Write compelling and well-researched grant proposals that align with Shroomate’s goals and initiatives
- Collaborate with the leadership team to gather necessary information and data for grant applications
- Manage the grant application process, including submission deadlines, follow-ups, and reporting requirements
- Track and maintain records of grant proposals, outcomes, and funding sources
- Stay up-to-date on trends in nonprofit fundraising and grant opportunities related to environmental sustainability
- Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and reporting standards
- Assist with developing long-term funding strategies to support the organization’s projects and initiatives
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in grant writing, with a proven track record of securing funds (nonprofit experience is preferred)
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple grant applications simultaneously
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines consistently
- Familiarity with grant management platforms and tools is a plus
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a remote team
- Passion for environmental sustainability, research, or nonprofit work
