ORGANIZATION: Birdhouse Fly Away

The REPEAT portion of our program invites entrepreneurs, volunteers and companies to join us in teaching and guiding our participants in various skill sets and career fields. Our partners have the opportunity to provide real time hands-on guidance and instruction in a wide range of fields including culinary, carpentry, electrical, automotive, care providing, and more! Through this initiative, we strive to ensure our participants are able to listen, learn, and then repeat what they have been taught - thereby fulfilling the program's namesake.

Key Responsibilities:

Mentorship and Training:

- Provide on-site training and supervision during specific job assignments.

- Instruct staff/participants in safe and effective techniques.

- Demonstrate best practices in field of choice.

Skill Development:

- Assist participants in developing proficiency in field of choice skills.

- Guide participants in understanding the entry level basics

- Support participants in troubleshooting and problem-solving on job sites.

Job Preparation:

- Prepare staff/participants for job assignments, ensuring they have necessary tools and equipment.

- Teach workplace etiquette and professionalism in any work environment.

- Facilitate discussions on career paths and opportunities within the choosen industry.

Program Collaboration:

- Coordinate with program coordinators to align job assignments with participant learning goals.

- Collaborate with other mentors and program staff to ensure cohesive program delivery.

- Provide feedback on participant progress and contribute to program evaluations.

Safety and Compliance:

- Uphold safety standards and regulations on job sites.

- Ensure participants adhere to safety protocols and use protective equipment if necessary.

- Address any safety concerns promptly and effectively.

In the end, feeding them a skill set they develop to recognize so that they may become self-sufficient and on a direct flight to upward mobility in whichever is in their path.

Description

Birdhouse Fly Away is a newly established 501c3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to assisting young people up to the age of 26 overcome obstacles to housing and employment.

We are on a mission to offer a comprehensive program that incorporates life skills education, real paid job experience, housing support and supportive services to help break down their barriers to success.

Our primary objective is to empower at-risk youth from childhood to early adulthood to overcome their challenges and give them the support they need to reach their full potential.
