Foliage Retrievers Service Dogs (FRSD) is seeking dedicated puppy raisers to help shape the future of service dogs for individuals with PTSD who are underserved by existing service dog organizations. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, FRSD provides highly trained service dogs to those in need, and our puppy raisers are an essential part of that mission.

What You’ll Do:

• Raise and socialize a puppy from approximately 8 weeks to 18 months of age.
• Provide basic training, socialization, and exposure to various environments.
• Attend regular training sessions with FRSD trainers or ones chosen by FRSD in your area.
• Offer a loving home, structure, and guidance to help the puppy grow into a well-mannered and confident service dog candidate.

Requirements:

• Commitment to raising the puppy for 12-18 months.
• Ability to provide a safe and loving home with time for daily training, exercise, and socialization.
• Attend training classes and puppy evaluations, either in person or virtually.
• Willingness to follow FRSD’s training guidelines and protocols.
• Previous dog experience is preferred but not required-FRSD will support you every step of the way!
