Recruiting Organization: Fraser River Discovery Centre

Volunteering at the Fraser River Discovery Centre (FRDC) is educational, rewarding, and fun! You'll engage with learners of all ages and help inspire stewards of the river through our interactive programs. This opportunity will grant you valuable volunteer work experience.

Volunteer Creative Assistant:

Under the direction of the FRDC Education Manager and the Public Engagement Manager, you will perform a range of duties at the FRDC, all designed to elevate education and public programming.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist FRDC staff with preparing materials for events, public programs, and educational programs.
  • Help create designs for promotional materials.
  • Assist with research and development for various projects and programs.
  • Assist with program and special event installations.

Time Commitment:

  • Please commit to at least 6 months of consistent volunteering at the FRDC.
  • Be available for at least a 2-hour volunteer shift per week (shift schedules are flexible).

General Volunteer Requirements:

  • Must be 15 years of age or older.
  • A desire to work with children and families.
  • Interest in graphic design.
  • Ability to collaborate with other FRDC staff.
  • Must be able to participate in an in-person interview.
  • Must complete volunteer orientation prior to their first shift.
  • Must consent to a Criminal Record Check.
