OVERVIEW Asian Connections Hub (ACH) is a non-profit organization committed to promoting mental health and well-being through innovative technology solutions. As part of our Sunnyside division, we operate the Sunnyside mental health app, providing accessible support and resources to the Asian and BIPOC communities. Our mission is to break down barriers to mental health care and empower individuals to lead healthier, happier lives.

OVERVIEW We are seeking a dedicated and organized Product Designer to join Asian Connections Hub. We are looking for a product designer to come grow our design in terms of visuals, interactions, and user experience. You will be assigned to work on our Sunnyside mental health app.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work on all facets of visual design to craft an appealing user interface that is consistent with the current style and optimizes user needs, business goals, and technological realities

  • Contribute to the design process from low to high fidelity, using sketches and prototypes to drive hypothesis-testing with users and stakeholders for proof-of-concept purposes

  • Conduct discovery with users and product team to shape project design briefs

  • Concept progressive creative that engages both new and existing customers across all mediums

  • Work with Product Manager to prioritize work, confirm scopes, and ensure high-quality delivery

  • Partner with Product team to uncover customer insights, facilitate design discussions, and influence strategy to help define and execute the product roadmap

  • Work with the overall Product team to spec out and iterate on features and improvements

  • Work closely with engineering team during hand-off, design reviews and feedback sessions

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrates experience in UX/UI Design

  • Online portfolio that shows relevant work with high-quality bar, outstanding execution, and creative solutions to design and marketing challenges

  • Experience owning and evolving brand guidelines

  • Breadth in all areas of brand and communications design, with core competencies in brand and web design

  • Proficiency with design tools (e.g. Figma)

  • Strong project management abilities with ability to prioritize, execute, and make design decisions on your own

  • On top of emerging design trends and industry developments

  • A continuous communicator, self learner, and change agent who can wear multiple hats while staying ahead of the game

  • A builder who grinds to turn dreams into reality through relentless determination, passion, and execution

  • Able to work extremely well on a cross-functional team

  • A portfolio of relevant design work is required for consideration

  • Knowledge and experience with applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with customers, along with cross-functional teams

  • Proficient in various design methods at the appropriate degrees of fidelity (storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, etc.)

  • Ability to use data and research to craft solutions (qualitative and quantitative)

  • Expertise with design tools like Figma

  • Experience designing creative assets across mobile, web, desktop, apps, and social

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2+ years of experience or 6 months

  • Proficiency in Figma

  • Strong visual design skills

  • Understands UX and UI Design principles and best practices

EXPECTATIONS

  • This is a volunteer role; we’re asking for 3-5 hours/week max to contribute no volunteer should be exceeding these hours without communication to their manager

  • Must attend meetings for team meetings and 1:1s

  • Communication is key and participation is required to commit to the project
