Join the Rainier Beach Action Coalition, Dirt Corps and Trees for Seattle as we care for the trees at the Rose Street Triangle adjacent to Rainier Ave South. Activities will include weed removal, mulching, trash pick-up and sweeping to make sure sidewalks are clear and accessible for all our neighbors! This site is a bus stop for Metro routes 7 and 9, or there is nearby neighborhood street parking available.

All skill levels are welcome! Youth are welcome as well, keeping in mind that we will be working near a busy roadway. Please wear clothing that can get dirty, including long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toed shoes. With fall here, please make sure to wear layers for the sun, rain, and cooler temperatures. We'll be providing the vests (since we are working close to a busy roadway), tools, snacks, and water to keep you hydrated and energized. Bring work gloves if you have them; if not, we'll have some you can borrow. We hope you'll join us!

Description

The Duwamish Infrastructure Restoration Training Corps (DIRT Corps) was established in South Seattle in 2015 as a community partnership program to provide on-the-job training for adult workers, specifically encouraging women, people of color, LGBT, and veterans to enroll.
